• Install timers for your lights to make it look like someone is home at night
• Make sure your lawn is mowed if you will be gone for a long time
• Leave a car in your driveway

Another good way good way to protect your home is to think like the burglars. Avoid common mistakes like hiding keys under doormats or anywhere outside you home.  Burglars are experts at finding these “secret” hiding places.

They will usually stake out a neighborhood and look for the best target. Taking the precaution above will help reduce the chance of a break in at your house but it’s not full proof.
